Former Casting Crowns Drummer Is in Serious Accident, Band Members Ask for Prayers

Contemporary Christian rock band Casting Crowns is asking for prayers for their former drummer, Andy Williams, who was in a serious motorcycle accident on Sunday.

“This morning Andy Williams, our beloved drummer, was struck by a vehicle while on his motorcycle on his way to church,” the band wrote in a Facebook post.

Williams was “resuscitated at the scene” and was rushed to the ER. Currently, he is on a ventilator “with severe trauma to his brain and body,” the group noted.

While Williams’ “needs are many,” doctors are hoping that he will “wake up on his own.”

“So please stop what you’re doing and pray for Andy to wake up,” the band added. “Pray for his wife Kelly, his two sons Asher and Aiden, and his sister Mary.”

According to CBN News, the post was met with many prayers for Williams’ healing.

“Lord, speak life and healing over the broken places in Andy’s body,” one person wrote. “Give supernatural wisdom and discernment to all those involved with his care and flood his family with indescribable peace in knowing that you are present, and you are in complete control, in Jesus’ name,” they continued.

“We pray for God’s Powerful and Healing Hands to touch his whole body. And use all the doctors & medical staffs for his complete recovery. In Jesus Name, we are claiming Lord for your mercy and grace,” another person said.

“Lord, reach down and fill his room. Bring comfort and peace to family and friends. Bring wisdom to [the] trauma team as they treat him. Lord, I ask this in Your Son’s name. You are the Way Maker the miracle worker You are our God,” wrote yet another person.”

Williams joined Casting Crowns in 2001. He remained a member of the band until 2009, when he left to start a new band with his wife, Kelly.

This is a developing story.
