I am a sinner saved by the Grace of God. I grew up the son of a pastor. I knew that before I was born that my father had been seeking God as a sign of what kind of calling He had on my life. The verse that was given to him was Matthew 3:3 “For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”. Hence, my name John after John the Baptist. Over my life I rebelled repeatedly against what I knew was my calling. In 2015 I was caught in an adulterous sin. I lost my marriage. God crushed me to dust. Through that chastisement, He has taught me not only about His Saving Grace but has continually put me in places to share this loving message. Today I am in Afghanistan as a defense contractor. But in a place that I really didn’t know how many would be seeking Jesus, I have found a field that is ripe for harvest. My Christian brother and I have started a church for contractors that work night shift. It is growing and with it I am answering the calling of God on my life. The verse that I have been given is Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
